Generosity is not in giving me that which I need more than you do, but it is in giving me that which you need more
than I do.
దాతృత్వమంటే,
నీకన్నా నాకెక్కువ అవసరమయిన
దాన్ని ఇవ్వడం కాదు. నాకన్నా
నీకెక్కువ అవసరమయిన దాన్ని
నాకివ్వడం అసలు దాతృత్వం.
You are indeed charitable when you
give, and while giving, turn your face away so that you may not see the shyness of the receiver.
దానం చేస్తున్నప్పుడు
నువ్వు నిజంగా గొప్పవాడివే.
కానీ దానం అందుకుంటున్న
వారి లోని సిగ్గును చూడకుండా
ముఖం అటు తిప్పుకో.
The difference between the richest
man and the poorest is but a day of hunger and an hour of thirst.
అందరికన్నా
ధనికునికీ, అందరికన్నా
బీదకూ తేడా, ఆకలిగొన్న
ఒక దినం, దప్పిగొన్న ఒక
గంట మాత్రమే.
We often borrow from our tomorrows to pay our debts to our yesterdays.
నిన్ననుండి
చేసిన అప్పులను తీర్చడానికి
మనం తరుచుగా రేపటి దగ్గర
అప్పు తెచ్చుకుంటాం.
I too am visited by angels and
devils, but I get rid of them.
When it is an angel I pray an old prayer, and he is bored;
When it is a devil I commit
an old sin, and he passes me by.
నా దగ్గరికి
కూడా దేవతలూ దయ్యాలూ
వస్తారు. నేను వాళ్లను
వదిలించుకుంటాను.
దేవత వస్తే పాత
ప్రార్థన పాడతాను. అతనికి
వేసట పుడుతుంది.
దెయ్యం వస్తే
ఒక పాత పాపం చేస్తాను.
అతనే నన్ను తప్పించుకుపోతాడు.
After all this is not a bad prison;
but I do not like this wall between my cell and the next prisoner's cell;
Yet I assure you that I do not wish to reproach
the warder not the Builder of the prison.
మొతాతనికీ
జైలు అంత చెడ్డదేం కాదు.
కానీ నా గదికీ పక్క ఖైదీ
గదికీ మధ్యనున్న గోడ
మాత్రం నాకు నచ్చదు. అయినా
అధికారినీ భవనం కట్టిన
వారినీ అడగనని మీకు భరోసా
ఇస్తాను.
Those who give you a serpent when you ask for a fish, may have nothing but serpents to
give. It is then generosity on their part.
చేప అడిగితే
పామునిచ్చే వారి దగ్గర
పాము తప్ప మరేమీ లేకపోవచ్చు.
అది వారి పక్షాన దాతృత్వమే
అవుతుంది.
Trickery succeeds sometimes, but it always commits suicide.
కిటుకులు
కొంత కాలం పని చేస్తాయి.

You are truly a forgiver when
you forgive murderers who never spill blood, thieves who never steal, and liars who utter no falsehood.

He who can put his finger upon that which divides good from evil is he who can
touch the very hem of the garment of God.
మంచిని చెడు
నుంచి వేరు చేసే విషయం
మీద వేలు ఉంచ గలిగిన వాడే,
దేవుని వస్త్రపు అంచును
తగలగలిగిన వాడు.
If your heart is a volcano how shall you
expect flowers to bloom in your hands?
నీ మనసు అగ్నిపర్వతమయితే,
మరి నీ చేతిలో పూలు విచ్చుకుంటాయని
ఎలా ఆశించ గలవు
A strange form of self-indulgence! There are times when I would
be wronged and cheated, that I may laugh at the expense of those who think I do not know I am being wronged and cheated.
ఇది ఒక వింత
రకం ఆత్మ స్తుతి. నా పట్ల
తప్పులు మోసాలు జరిగిన
సందర్భాలున్నాయి. ఆ సంగతి
నాకు తెలియదనుకునే వారిని
చూచి నేను నవ్వుకుంటాను.
What shall I say of him who is
the pursuer playing the part of the pursued?
అతను వెంటబడున్నవాడు,
కానీ వెంట ఎవరో పడుతున్నట్టు
నటిస్తాడు. అతని గురించి

Let him who wipes his soiled hands with your garment take your garment. He may need it again; surely you would not.
తన మట్టి చేతులను

It is a pity that money-changers cannot be
good gardeners.

Please do not whitewash your inherent
faults with your acquired virtues. I would have the faults; they are like mine own.
సహజంగా ఉన్న
లోపాలను, నేర్చుకున్న
సద్గుణాలతో రంగు పులమాలని
దయచేసి ప్రయత్నించకు.
నా తప్పులను నేనే ఉంచుకుంటాను.
అవి నా స్వంతం మరి.
How often have I attributed to
myself crimes I have never committed, so that the other person may feel comfortable in my presence.
నేను చేయని
నేరాలను నేనెన్ని సార్లు
ఒప్పుకోలేదు. ఆ మరో మనిషి
మరి నాముందు సుకంగా ఉంటాడాయె.
Even the masks of life are masks
of deeper mystery.
జీవితం ముసుగులు
కూడా, లోతయిన రహస్యాల
ముసుగులే.
You may judge others only according to your knowledge of yourself.
Tell me
now, who among us is guilty and who is unguilty?
నీకు తెలిసిన

The truly just is he who feels

man-made laws; and they are the nearest to the heart of God.

Let his strength be
equal to mine,
That truth alone may be the victor.
నాకు శతృవులు

మరీ ప్రేమిస్తూ,
మరీ ప్రేమ పాత్రుడయినందుకు
చాలా కాలం క్రితం ఒకతన్ని
శిలువనెక్కించారు.
చెపితే చిత్రంగా
ఉంటుంది గాని నేనతడిని
నిన్న మూడు మార్లు కలిశాను.
మొదటి సారి అతను
ఒక వేశ్యను జైలు పాలు
చేయ వద్దని పోలీసును

If all they say of good and evil were true, then my life is but one long crime.

Pity is but half justice.

THE ONLY ONE who has been unjust
to me is the one to whose brother I have been unjust.
