A point to ponder

These are my musings. I keep writing them occassionally. They will be in Telugu and sometimes in English too. Older items are found in the archives page.

This is a poem I found somewhere!

I have written almost a similar poem long back when I was in the University.

Like the shadows

Is there, out there, a sky

Sunny or windy or humid with autumn

A sky at dawn, or a sunset sky?

Are there, out there, human faces

Strange or familiar

Happy or hurting

Friendly faces, or faces like beasts’?

Is there, out there, a nothingness

With no future, and no past?

Was it I who drew the curtains across the window?

Is there, out there, dark earth

That buries all flesh that once was beauty

That buries all glances, all shut lips?

Is there only this place?

Is there only this late afternoon?

Is there only myself?

Katha - A Telugu Short Story

This is a short story in Telugu written by me some time back. It is not published in any magazine.

Telugu Songs (Lyrics)

Just to show that I have written some lyrics too.

Mahia - A new form of Poetry!

Mahia is a folk meter of poetry in Punjabi. Urdu poets experimented with it. It fell on me to do so in Telugu.

Tappu - A Poem!

Every Telugu person wirth the name knows the story of The Seven fish. This poem is about the same point. Passing the buck! But, here the wheel goes a full circle!

My Story II ( The Pleasure of Giving)

I am writing about my life in the village. The beginning part of my story is there in another page, I am still a villager at heart and want to share with you about the childhood days and the village life.

Wit of Shri Veereshalingam Pantulu Garu. Read the translation of a one act play.

Pantulu Garu was a master of satire. I tried to translate one of his pieces into English.

Death - A perspective ( An Article)

A recent article I have written about my favorite theme - Death

Tatacharla Kathalu!!

This Tatacharlu should not be mistaken for the one in Krishndevaraya's time. This man was not even a writer. He narrated the stories like many in the villages do. These are not imaginary stories. They are real incidents. A lot of research has taken place on this work of interest to Telugu language scholars. The language used in these stories is really interesting. It is more than colloquial.. Here are two stories translated into
english.

Memorable moments!! About Nanduri!!

Nanduri Ramakrishnamacharya was a great friend. What a great poet! He was better as a Friend!

Mullah Nasruddin Stories -I

Mullah Nasruddin - II

Mullah Nasruddin stories retold.

Visit my E Snips folders for a lot of interesting material!!

You will find some good collection of classical music and E-Books there. Many people have enjoyed the collection and commented on it.. For example you can listen 60 different singers, all maters in their own right, there!

I need your comments on the content of this site and the esnips collection too.

A word from me!

I would like to thank all those who are visiting my site.
I really want to do a lot in this place. It was surprising that when a search was made in Google with words "Telugu and articles", this page of mine was shown in the first place. Wikipedia was in the next position. I am not really happy about it!
I only ask why there is not so much of Telugu on the internet.
Somewhere there has to be a concerted effort to place as much Telugu material as possible, on the net.
I do my small bit in this direction.

I do not mean people are not doing anything. I know there are some webmagazines too. All said and done, the amount of Telugu reading material available, is really small. It calls for some introspection on all those who love this language.
Can we do something about it?

GopalamKB

This is a poem I wrote long back.
I found it in my attic recently.
